Job Opportunity for Junior Doctors
This is an excellent opportunity for junior doctors to join this award-winning Trust's national training program. The role involves working with a busy, dynamic multidisciplinary team to improve services for our population.
Role Aim: To provide candidates with experience and exposure to various surgical specialties, helping to build their experience as a junior doctor at the FY2/Core Trainee level.
The program offers a professional portfolio platform along with dedicated Education and Clinical Supervisors. The Academy of Surgery is well-known regionally and received the national Health Service Journal Award for organization and people development in 2021.
Minimum Requirements: MRCS and full GMC Registration. Oversight and shadowing arrangements will be provided for international medical graduates in line with GMC guidance.
Skills and Knowledge: Good communication skills, understanding of audits and projects, and knowledge of research principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain emergency care provision as part of the surgical team and manage patient care comprehensively.
2. Provide a high-quality, responsive service to Barking Havering & Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust, ensuring responsibility for patients within the catchment area in cooperation with consultant colleagues.
3. Take clinical responsibility for patients admitted under consultant care out of hours, in accordance with hospital policies.
4. Perform discharge teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, and contribute to postgraduate and continuing education for medical, nursing, technical staff, GPs, and other allied professions.
5. Deputize in the absence of departmental colleagues during leave or short-term sickness.
6. Contribute regularly to the clinical audit process within the Trust and at regional levels, in cooperation with the Audit Committee.
