As Senior Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) EHCP Coordinator for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the work of PfA EHCP Coordinators within the SEND team, including supervision, appraisal and the induction of new team members as well as managing a reduced caseload. You will ensure that performance standards and national indicators relating to the statutory EHCP processes are achieved and Coordinators undertake statutory processes in an efficient and timely manner, reaching appropriate placement decisions for children and young people aged 14-25.

About the role

As part of the role, you will be asked to meet with parents, schools and other agency representatives in order to negotiate, identify and develop positive solutions where children and young people have a complex range of needs. The Senior PfA EHCP Coordinator will also be expected to advise and lead on more complex cases as required. You will be responsible for improving customer satisfaction levels for the service and act as a professional exemplar in carrying out all duties with a ‘can do’ attitude.
The post holder will oversee the work of EHCP Coordinators, including managing complex casework and ensuring that the team undertake statutory work around SEND annual reviews, phase transfer and follow the ceasing process as per SEND Code of Practice.

You will lead Annual Reviews and Transfer Reviews as required and monitor systems for the management of Review processes and take responsibility for managing the arrangements for Phase Transfer and transitions through liaison with Social Care and Health Services, schools, colleges and parents.

You will provide information for the purpose of appeals and lead mediations as appropriate. You will also attend tracking meetings and Panels throughout the week and respond to any formal complaints that are received by the service.
This is a hybrid role, which may vary depending on management duties or service needs. You may be expected to attend the office and other sites during various times of the week.

About you

1. Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification / experience
2. Evidence of access to continuing professional development (in relation to SEN or relevant fields)
3. Knowledge of the principles and practice of Service providers across Education, Health and Social Care, including Experience in undertaking line management and effective people management monitoring attendance and performance
4. Excellent customer service skills
