Department Overview The Project Management Office (PMO) serves as a centralized hub within the AML IT organization, designed to standardize project management practices, improve efficiency, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and deliver the IT change and transformation roadmap. Key duties and responsibilities Project Delivery: Manage the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, maintaining a clear focus on business outcomes. Governance and Methodology: Apply established PMO governance frameworks, standards, and methodologies to ensure consistency, structure, and effective control across all assigned projects. Collaboration and Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams that may include internal staff, contractors, and third-party vendors. Ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities and foster a collaborative, delivery-focused environment. Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders across AML to ensure project alignment with business objectives and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain open, transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues. Develop and execute mitigation strategies to minimise project disruption and ensure timely delivery. Resource Coordination: Plan and coordinate resources for each project, including internal teams and external suppliers. Monitor capacity and ensure effective utilisation across all contributors. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, tools, and practices. Provide feedback to the PMO to support continuous improvement. Budget Management: Develop and manage project budget, ensuring financial control and transparency. Track project financials and report regularly on performance against budget. Performance Reporting: Provide regular project status updates, dashboards, and reports to stakeholders and the PMO, highlighting progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes. Change Enablement: Support change management and adoption activities associated with the project, ensuring new solutions are embraced and embedded successfully into business operations. Experience and Qualifications Essential Experience Project Management Experience: Proven experience in successfully delivering complex IT projects, including cross-functional and cross-organisational coordination. Strong track record in managing projects involving both internal resources and external partners or vendors. Structured and Results-Oriented Mindset: Demonstrated ability to manage complexity with a structured, methodical approach while maintaining a strong focus on execution and results. Risk and Issue Management: Strong capability to proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing actionable mitigation strategies and ensuring effective issue resolution. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with diverse business units and technical teams. Proven ability to build relationships and align stakeholders with varying interests. Budget and Resource Management: Experience planning and managing project budgets, as well as coordinating internal and external resources to ensure efficient delivery. Process-Oriented Delivery: Familiarity with structured project management practices, including governance models, reporting standards, and quality assurance mechanisms. Experience in Digital Transformation Projects: Experience delivering IT-enabled business change, particularly in automotive, manufacturing, or similarly complex environments. Preferred Experience Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid Methodologies: Familiarity with multiple delivery frameworks and the ability to select or adapt the right approach for the project context. Enterprise Level Applications Experience: Exposure to projects involving ERP (SAP, Infor LN, Microsoft Dynamics), PLM, CRM, or WMS systems, especially in manufacturing or automotive environments. Vendor and Contract Management: Experience working with external suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, and SLAs. Change Management Awareness: Experience supporting the adoption of new systems, tools, or processes through change enablement practices. Automotive experience: Automotive or manufacturing industry experience is preferred and would be a strong advantage Essential Education/ Qualifications Educated to degree level or equivalent. Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or equivalent certification. Preferred Education/ Qualifications Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM), or equivalent ITIL Foundation Required skills/ Behaviours Project Management (PRMG) (SFIA Level 5): Leads and manages projects to deliver agreed scope and outcomes. Applies structured planning, tracking, and reporting to maintain control and drive delivery. Stakeholder Relationship Management (RLMT) (SFIA Level 5): Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, maintaining alignment and ensuring that delivery remains focused on business value. Resource Management (RESC) (SFIA Level 5): Coordinates both internal and external resources to ensure effective and efficient project delivery. Risk Management (BURM) (SFIA Level 5): Proactively identifies and manages risks and issues, applying analytical thinking to resolve challenges and maintain delivery momentum. Financial Management (FMIT) (SFIA Level 5): Manages project financials, including budget planning, cost control, and financial reporting to ensure transparency and accountability. Soft Skills: Highly organised, analytical, and structured in approach, with the ability to simplify complexity and maintain control in dynamic environments. Action-oriented and pragmatic, with a strong bias for execution and achieving results. Clear communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
