Are you an experienced Sliding Head Programmer / Setter / Operator looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team? Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate STAR 38-B sliding head (Swiss-type) CNC lathes, ensuring efficient machine operation.
2. Load raw materials and perform precise tooling setups according to job specifications to guarantee high-quality outputs.
3. Program, edit, and adjust CNC programs to achieve correct dimensions and surface finishes.
4. Inspect components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and verniers, ensuring all parts meet specified tolerances and surface finish requirements.
5. Document inspection results meticulously and maintain quality documentation to uphold standards.
6. Conduct basic preventative maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any machining or tooling issues to minimise downtime.
7. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to suggest and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Ideal Candidate:
8. Proven experience operating and programming sliding head (Swiss-type) CNC lathes.
9. Strong understanding of CNC programming, ideally with knowledge of STAR machines.
10. Proficient in inspecting components with precision measuring tools.
11. Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot effectively.
12. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
13. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
