The below job description will outline this position of: Production & Process Engineer Typically, this person will plan, direct and coordinate the design, manufacture and modification of production within the internal and external Supply Chain while monitoring performance and implementing continuous improvement incentives. Duties and responsibilities of the Production & Process Engineer: Design and create models and drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD software in accordance with the the companies Design released drawings, centred on functionality, simplicity and economy to provide clear production instructions to the operations department Review Production Engineering drawings for approval, reporting and implementing required rework and production improvements Support Production Change Control in checking and processing of design Engineering drawing release and updates Strong administration skills and full understanding and knowledge of the end to end process of drawing release in order to implement best practice and continuous improvement Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard operating procedures & work instructions Improve manufacturing efficiency by way of removing waste from the processes Investigate production and process issues providing technical support Undertake special projects as required Creation of the production BOM model in Solid works and execution of virtual build reviews with stakeholders to refine build sequence Use the EPDM system to store and issue drawings Implement production performance metrics to allow analysis for identifying continuous improvement opportunities and training and development opportunities Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers & suppliers providing Technical support where necessary Work with Operations/Engineering to enable TQNs to be answered in a timely manner to suit project time scales Liaise with suppliers in order to source new components Assess the strength of components using hand calculations and provide input to CAE assessments where appropriate Prepare for and attend design reviews and incorporate review feedback into designs as necessary Qualifications and requirements for the Production & Process Engineer: 3D Cad skills preferably with SolidWorks, although adaptation training will be given if necessary Proven capability of creating detailed 3d models and accurate engineering drawings of components and assemblies Minimum of HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline This vacancy is being advertised by HSB Technical Ltd who have been appointed to act as a recruitment partner for this role.
