We are heading up a recruitment drive for a global consultancy that require a SC Cleared Fibre Optic Engineering Review and Training Support Consultant to join them on a major defence project that's based in Bolton.
Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile consultant to lead the end-to-end delivery of a Fibre Optic Learning & Development engagement for a defence-sector client. This role combines technical expertise in fibre optics with instructional design, stakeholder engagement, and training delivery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Consultancy & Analysis
2. Conduct on-site assessment of existing fibre optic systems, processes, and practices across manufacturing, test, and design teams.
3. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
4. Produce a detailed findings and recommendations report.
5. Training Design & Development
6. Define learning outcomes based on consultancy insights.
7. Design a tailored training package for three distinct teams (Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Design).
8. Develop supporting materials such as guides, checklists, and reference documents.
9. Training Delivery
10. Facilitate a hands-on training session for selected engineers.
11. Ensure knowledge transfer and enable internal capability building.
12. Stakeholder Engagement
13. Liaise with client stakeholders to align on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
14. Provide regular updates and incorporate feedback into the training solution.
15. Post-Training Support
16. Offer light-touch support post-delivery to address queries and reinforce learning.
Required Skills & Experience:
17. Strong technical background in fibre optic systems, including handling, testing, and design.
18. Experience in technical training design and delivery, ideally in a defence or high-compliance environment.
19. Ability to translate complex technical content into accessible learning materials.
20. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
21. Familiarity with industry standards (eg IEEE, IAAA, MIL-STD, IEC).
