Description | Salary £28,142-£32,061 Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Public Transport Inspector, Preston | International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Lancashire County Council's Public Transport Team forms part of the Passenger and Fleet Transport service of the authority. The team is responsible for contracted bus service provision and development, information, interchanges and bus stations, concessionary travel and rail developments working with varying partners. Key Responsibilities: Working as part of the team of four Public Transport Inspectors to m onitor the provision of tendered local bus services and home to school/college services Monitor, raise and report contract compliance issues of our service providers, including safeguarding procedures, revenue protection issues and vehicle checks in partnership with both authority and DVSA colleagues. M aintain and monitor bus stop/shelter infrastructure and customer facing information provision by utilising a range of practical, manual and procedural skills and knowledge, ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times, especially when working on the public highways. It would be beneficial if the post holder has working knowledge of bus service operation, good navigation senses and the ability to work on their own initiative.
