Job Title: Head of Category Direct Reports: 5 Location: Slough or Weybridge Office Salary: £90,000–£100,000 depending on experience Benefits: Car Allowance, Pension, Holiday Allowance, Private Medical, Product Discounts, Onsite Parking Role Overview: As Head of Category, you’ll play a key leadership role in defining and executing category strategy across a number of high-profile product lines. This is a strategic and hands-on role, focused on driving growth, delivering commercial impact, and elevating performance across key retail and channel partnerships. Key Responsibilities: Lead the strategic direction for the Category & Merchandising function Collaborate with a talented team of Senior Category Managers, Category Managers and Assistants to build and deliver best-in-class category plans Develop and refine pricing strategies to maximise margin and competitiveness Curate and manage product ranges based on customer insight, market data, and commercial priorities Ensure flawless execution of category and merchandising initiatives across all channels Conduct in-depth range reviews, optimising space, flow, assortment and SKU productivity Own the design and rollout of promotional strategies that drive footfall, engagement, and revenue What We're Looking For: A strong leader with proven experience in category management, merchandising, or retail buying A track record of delivering results and driving commercial performance Excellent understanding of customer behaviour, market dynamics, and category trends Strong stakeholder management and confident communication skills Experience working with suppliers and managing performance metrics Passionate about FMCG, the product, and delivering value to the customer Sharp commercial acumen and the ability to influence at a senior level Sound like you?
