Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join North Northamptonshire Council on a fully remote basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong public sector procurement and commercial contracts experience to support a busy legal team on a varied caseload of procurement and contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on procurement and commercial contract matters.
* Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements.
* Advise on procurement processes and compliance with relevant legislation.
* Support the development and delivery of complex procurement projects.
* Draft and advise on framework agreements, call-off contracts and bespoke schedules.
* Provide legal support on Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks and associated contracts.
* Advise on JCT and NEC contract documentation.
* Work closely with procurement, commissioning and service teams across the Council.
* Identify and manage legal risks while delivering practical, solution-focused advice.
Essential Experience
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
* Significant experience in contracts and procurement law.
* Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and local authority contracting.
* Experience drafting and advising on:
o JCT Contracts
o NEC Contracts
o CCS Terms and Frameworks
o Call-Off Contracts
o Framework Agreements
o Bespoke Commercial Contracts and Schedules
* Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
