Engine Engine Fitter / Mechanical Technician Location: Telford Type: Permanent | Full-Time Industry: Engineering / Defence / Remanufacturing As a dedicated engineering recruiter, I'm currently supporting a highly respected organisation in the defence and engineering sector that is looking to strengthen its technical team. We're seeking an experienced Engine Fitter / Mechanical Technician to join their specialist workshop in Coventry. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in engine fitting or remanufacturing, who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a structured, quality-focused environment. Key Responsibilities: Assess and strip down mechanical products in line with detailed work instructions. Follow all MOD-specific requirements, including component traceability and strip/survey reporting. Evaluate components for serviceability and determine suitability for reuse or replacement. Accurately record additional Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements and job documentation. Rebuild and test products to OE or AESP specifications. Report faults and escalate issues to the Workshop Supervisor as needed. Maintain high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet deadlines. Ensure full compliance with company health & safety, quality, and operational procedures. Record daily job activities using the internal E10 system. What We're Looking For: Previous experience in engine fitting, mechanical assembly, or remanufacturing roles. Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail. Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal. Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel-or a willingness to learn. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve. Why Consider This Role?
