Leisure Attendant / Lifeguard

Location: Bootle Leisure Centre, Sefton, Merseyside
Type: Permanent, Part-time (21.92 hours per week) including evenings and weekends
Salary: £24,796-£25,185 per year
There is an opportunity within Sefton Council for a part-time leisure attendant based at Bootle Leisure Centre to join the team. The post is for a fully qualified National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) lifeguard to work as part of a team, ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care are maintained. The role requires constant supervision of the poolside; you will need to be focused, vigilant, alert, and attentive. Responsibilities include setting up equipment for programmed activities and undertaking cleaning tasks to ensure the centre is presented to a high standard. The successful candidate will have a friendly and approachable manner and maintain a high level of customer service. Ongoing monthly training is required.
Responsibilities
* Fully qualified NPLQ lifeguard
* Supervise poolside and maintain vigilance to ensure safety

* Complete ongoing monthly training
Qualifications
* Essential: current Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
* Desirable: First Aid at Work qualification, AED, and pool plant operator's certificate
Skills and Experience
* Ability to remain vigilant, alert and attentive
* Calm and in control in pressurised situations such as emergencies
* Customer care and communication skills
* Ability to maintain high standards of centre cleanliness and presentation
* Health & Safety awareness
This position requires an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
