Position Overview: This role requires an aptitude for mechanical assembly and a good eye for detail. The post holders function is to ensure that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company. The day-to-day tasks will include the use of a variety of hand tools as well as larger pieces such as lifting equipment. Attention to detail to identify defects is essential as the components and assemblies are of high value and when connected to the final assembly are required to be operate safely without concern to quality or function. It is a requirement of the role to be able to read and understand technical level component and assembly drawings, to take instruction from other team members and their manager, and to follow all procedures for health and safety in the workplace. Training will be provided to cover specific needs of the role with regards to product knowledge, but the post-holder will be expected to demonstrate the required aptitude gained as part of an engineering apprenticeship. Requirements for a successful Mechanical Fitter: • Relevant qualification NVQ Level 2/3 or Time-served apprenticeship. • Must have engineering experience gained within an assembly and manufacturing environment. • Reasonable IT skills. • High attention to detail. • Well organised. • Good communication skills both written and verbal. Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 Friday 07:30 – 13:00 37.5 Hours per week
