Job Description Security Officer Location: Northamptonshire Salary: £27,302.76 per annum Permanent, Full-Time We are delighted to be recruiting for a Security Officer on behalf of a well-established and highly respected educational organisation based in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and professional Security Officer to join a busy campus environment where safety, welfare and customer service are at the heart of the role. This position would suit someone with a proactive approach to security, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors across the campus. Working Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off rolling rota Shifts are typically: • 6:00am – 6:00pm • 6:00pm – 6:00am Weekend and evening working will be required. Key Responsibilities • Providing a visible and reassuring security presence across the site • Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems proactively • Responding to incidents including fire alarms, first aid and health & safety matters • Carrying out regular patrols of buildings and grounds • Managing access control for staff, visitors, contractors and students • Front of house and reception duties outside core business hours • Supporting the Student Welfare team with safeguarding and welfare matters • Completing incident reports and maintaining accurate records • Managing car park duties and access control • Promoting health & safety and safeguarding procedures at all times • Acting professionally and positively as an ambassador for the organisation The Ideal Candidate • Holds a valid SIA Door Supervision or SIA Security Guarding licence • Ideally holds a SIA CCTV Licence (training can be provided) • Holds a full UK driving licence with less than 6 points • Has previous experience within a customer-facing or security-based role • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Able to work independently and use initiative • Comfortable working in a busy environment with young people and members of the public • Professional, approachable and calm under pressure • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills Benefits • 33 days annual leave including bank holidays • Up to 5 additional College closure days • Local Government Pension Scheme with 17% employer contribution • Enhanced maternity & paternity benefits • High Street Discounts scheme • Annual volunteering day • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities • 24/7 employee support line for employees and immediate household family members • Wellbeing programme and initiatives • Healthcare cash plan • Discounted onsite gym membership • Discounted nursery fees • Free onsite parking • Cycle to Work Scheme • Eye care vouchers • Online payslips • 10% discount on College courses If you are looking for a varied and rewarding security role within a supportive organisation, we would love to hear from you.
