Location: London & UK‑wide sites | Hybrid (Stevenage office)

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 + bonus

Are you currently coordinating sites, installations or subcontractors and looking for a clear step into Project Management?

TAG Catering Equipment is seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Site & Installations to support the multi‑site delivery of commercial catering equipment projects across the UK.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role, ideal for someone from a construction, fit‑out or installation background who wants to develop the experience required to progress into a Project Manager position.

TAG Catering Equipment delivers premium hospitality kitchens and bar fit‑outs across the UK, combining award‑winning design with high‑quality installation and efficient project delivery. We work on projects ranging from independent restaurants to large‑scale, multi‑site hospitality rollouts.

Please note: this role is suited to candidates with experience in construction, fit‑out or installation‑based environments. It is not suitable for backgrounds in SaaS, media or purely office‑based project roles.

The Role

As Assistant Project Manager – Site & Installations, you will be actively involved in the on‑site delivery of commercial catering equipment projects.

You may be:

* Coordinating multiple smaller projects simultaneously (typically £10,000 – £250,000), or
* Supporting the delivery of larger, complex projects in excess of £1,000,000, based on site alongside an experienced Project Manager.

The role focuses on day‑to‑day site coordination, subcontractor management, programme support and quality control, providing valuable exposure to all stages of project delivery.

You will also support snagging, customer training and final handover to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Site Coordination & Delivery

* Support daily site operations including site set‑up, inductions, access and logistics
* Maintain a professional on‑site presence across multiple locations
* Assist in coordinating site readiness and sequencing of works

Subcontractor & Installer Coordination

* Brief and coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades (e.g. catering installers, M&E, fabrication and finishes)
* Support sequencing of works and help resolve day‑to‑day delivery issues
* Escalate risks, delays or variations to the Project Manager promptly

Health, Safety & Compliance

* Support enforcement of RAMS, permits and site safety requirements
* Assist with toolbox talks, site inductions and housekeeping standards
* Promote safe delivery and installation practices in line with CDM expectations

Programme, Quality & Reporting

* Maintain a site diary including progress notes and photographs
* Update project milestones and provide progress feedback to the wider team
* Support snagging processes and quality checks against drawings and specifications

Handover & Close‑Out

* Assist with collection of O&M information including manuals, serial numbers and photos
* Support customer training and preparation of handover documentation
* Help ensure smooth project close‑out and client sign‑off

Systems & Administration

* Use TAG’s ERP, Microsoft 365, Teams Planner, Smartsheet and Insite for light reporting and tracking
* Keep site documentation accurate, organised and proportionate to the role

About You

* Experience in construction, fit‑out or installation‑led projects, with exposure to site coordination or supervision
* Comfortable working on live sites and liaising with subcontractors and clients
* Organised, proactive and solutions‑focused
* Confident communicator with a practical, hands‑on approach
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 and project coordination tools
* Certifications (advantageous): CSCS card; SSSTS (or willingness to obtain); Emergency First Aid; PASMA / IPAF where relevant
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
* Comfortable with occasional out‑of‑hours or overnight work when programmes require
