Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays,Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking Lecturers in English to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Teaching & Learning Delivery – Deliver high-quality English teaching across various levels and programmes, using engaging materials and differentiated strategies to meet individual learner needs.
2. Student Support & Progress – Guide and support students through tutorials, assessments, and progress tracking to help them achieve their potential and meet academic goals.
3. Curriculum & Course Development – Contribute to curriculum innovation, develop schemes of work, and implement new learning materials aligned with awarding body standards.
4. Quality Assurance & Administration – Maintain accurate records, participate in course reviews, and implement quality processes, while supporting marketing, recruitment, and promotional activities.
5. Professionalism & Safeguarding – Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, engage in continuous professional development, and support colleagues through mentoring and curriculum leadership where qualified.
About you:
6. Qualifications & Experience – Hold a relevant degree or Level 5 qualification in English, with GCSEs in Maths and English (A–C), and recent experience teaching and assessing GCSE English.
7. Knowledge & Skills – Strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and organisational skills, with the ability to teach diverse learners and use Microsoft Office confidently.
8. Professional Values & Conduct – Demonstrates commitment to student focus, high performance, and integrity, while promoting the College’s values and maintaining professional standards.
9. Communication & Collaboration – Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the College and influence at all levels.
10. Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, continuous professional development, and flexible working across College locations, with a valid driving licence and vehicle access.
