THE POST – VLE and Registry Systems Integrations Developer
This critical role will lead the technical implementation and integration of the University’s new Virtual Learning Environment (D2L Brightspace) with the student registry system (Ellucian Banner). Working within the Registry Systems Team, you’ll deliver expert solutions to enhance the student experience by developing APIs and custom integrations for seamless data flow across systems, including staff and curriculum information. You’ll scope requirements, build and test solutions, and support grade pass-back functionality, collaborating closely with colleagues across the University. This is an exciting opportunity to shape core systems and drive innovation in student services.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
* Suitable, relevant experience of professional software development including React, SQL, PHP/CSharp/Java scripting, all working with Vendor provided APIs, SDKs and data models and solution frameworks.
* Experience serving throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, deliver and maintenance.
* Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including: coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
* Experience on large-scale enterprise applications, especially with Unix and basic scripting.
* A proven background with experience working both frontend and backend.
* Worked in cross-functional teams, being comfortable contributing to product decision-making and engineering to meet business goals.
* Experience at putting the user at the heart of the development process.
