Priory Lakeside View is looking to recruit a Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team.This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
Priory Lakeside View in Willenhall, West Midlands, supports 30 adults with acute mental health needs within a safe, therapeutic environment. We have two male wards in the main building, and a female ward in a separate building. From the point of admission into our acute services, we aim to support people to safely discharge back into the community, where they can continue to progress towards recovery in a less restrictive environment.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
You will:
* Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans to help patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.
* Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve physical, mental, or emotional abilities.
* Monitor and document patients’ progress, reporting observations and changes to the supervising occupational therapist.
* Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and workspaces to ensure a safe and effective treatment environment.
* Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and assistive devices to promote independence outside of therapy sessions.

Candidates for the position of Occupational Therapy Assistant are required to possess an associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and must hold current licensure or certification as mandated by state regulations.
