Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 8a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary CAMHS service. Consideration will also be given to newly qualified Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists for whom this would be a development post moving to a Band 8a following 2 years post qualification. The role is to ensure delivery and development of high-quality specialist assessment and intervention underpinned by a psycho-analytical framework to complement the range of psychological/therapeutic services within the multi-disciplinary service. We offer a specialist service to families and young people through face-to-face contacts or indirectly by liaising closely with statutory and voluntary organisations. The post holder will provide assessment, consultation, training, groups and individual interventions for parents/carers and infants, young children and their families, and clinical supervision. Postholders will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users and their carers and have a clear understanding of professional boundaries. Responsibilities
* Ensure that interventions are planned in an integrated and co-ordinated manner, particularly where dependent on other external agencies identified through supervision or complex case discussion.
* Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, management and treatment of service users.
* Provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.
* Following consultation, be responsible for developing care packages including assessing, planning, intervention and evaluation, ensuring active involvement of parents and infants.
* Provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessments of referred families and identify collaboratively the most appropriate treatment for them.
* Participate in the development and delivery of a programme of training for other professional groups working in the parent-infant mental health service.
* Lead on programmes of audit and research within the team and implement the findings.
* Lead on areas of service development.
* Deputise for the Clinical Lead in their absence.
* Provide Clinical Supervision both internally and externally.
* Contribute to the training experience of trainee Child Psychotherapists / Clinical Psychologists as appropriate.
Qualifications
* Permanent Band 8a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, with consideration for newly qualified psychotherapists for whom this would be a development post moving to Band 8a after 2 years post qualification.
