Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer with brownfield Oil & Gas experience to support an existing contract with a N.Sea Oil & Gas Operator. This position is an expansion due to increased approved work volumes from our client. Wood is urgently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with brownfield Oil & Gas experience in mechanical package specification, procurement and management. The role is to support our ongoing modifications portfolio, covering concept studies through to detailed design engineering for one of our major N.Sea clients. The modifications portfolio covers scopes from low complexity single discipline to multi-discipline, multi-million pound engineering projects. The primary focus of the role is to provide mechanical engineering expertise to the project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of remote engineers, providing technical expertise & managing budgets and planning. This individual will be expected to work largely under his/her own direction and will report to the contract Engineering Manager. The role is open to permanent staff or PSC contract. Key Responsibilities: Definition and approval of technical scopes. Provision of discipline Expertise to the business/project team. Execute facility engineering design in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes Provide discipline specific guidance and coordinate delivery with remote team members in Global Execution Centres (GEC). Management and leadership of a small team. Discipline Specific Requirements: Interpret Client Standards and provide Input to Package Specifications Approve project drawings for construction. Proficient with specialist software packages necessary to fulfil role. Knowledge of International Codes & Client Standards (e.g. IEC, BS, Norsok & Equinor TR etc.). Provide support to HAZOPs/HAZIDz and other technical reviews as required. Minimum Qualifications: MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification, or BSc, BEng or equivalent with relevant considerable experience (10yr) in Brownfield Oil & Gas Mods. Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent is preferred but not essential. Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position (10yr)
