A proactive and organised project delivery professional is sought to support project management across the Maritime Directorate at the Department for Transport. The role works closely with the Maritime Director and Senior Management Team to lead reporting, governance and corporate functions, providing clear advice to senior stakeholders, strengthening risk and performance oversight, and driving delivery of key directorate priorities through effective collaboration.

As the Maritime Reporting and Governance Coordinator, your duties and responsibilities will include:

* Leading Risk and Milestone coordination for the Directorate. This includes working with division leads to make sure that risk and milestone updates are accurate and timely as well as providing guidance on best practice on reporting to teams.
* Leading the project and programme financial coordination. This includes tracking project and programme directorate expenditure to ensure it is on budget and using the correct cost‑centres. The role holder will be required to raise purchase orders and process invoices in a timely manner.
* Act as secretariat for the Maritime Project and Programme Board. Commissioning board papers, completing a readout of the meeting, maintaining an action log and ensuring actions are completed.
* Working closely with the Head of Corporate and Reporting Functions to develop and embed effective processes for managing the core business functions of the directorate. This will include ensuring the offer to the Directorate on project and programme support is well understood and taken up as a matter of course, as well as working with the wider Directorate Support Team to make sure adequate resilience and support is in place on issues related to reporting, project support and other duties that support the directorate achieve its objectives.
