Crawley, United Kingdom. The Crawley hub is a modern office environment, centre of operations for our Geosolutions and Exploration Data services in Europe.
Job Summary
Full-waveform inversion (FWI) is a rapidly evolving area of subsurface imaging. We seek an experienced geophysicist with depth imaging expertise, ideally in FWI, to join our headquarters geophysics team and accelerate implementation of new techniques into regional operations and develop innovative solutions for customers.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
* Early adoption and evaluation of new technology
* Development of innovative depth imaging solutions, working closely with clients
* Close liaison with R&E and technical leaders in operations teams
* Internal and external publication and knowledge sharing
Essential Requirements
* Experience, expertise and passion for earth model building and depth imaging
* At least MSc level qualification
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Desirable: experience programming with C++ in HPC environments
* Bonus: knowledge of data science and machine learning applied to subsurface imaging challenges
