We are seeking to appoint a technician to support the Science Department. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the head of department and Senior Science Technician. Duties will include maintenance of laboratories, store rooms, and equipment; ordering and preparing materials for lessons; and supporting students and teachers with demonstrations and experiments. A key responsibility will be maintaining Health and Safety records within the department.
Requirements:
* Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people.
* Organised, methodical, and careful.
* Experience in the safe handling of chemicals and living organisms, with a good understanding of health and safety practices.
* Effective communication skills, maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, students, and external contractors.
Science-related qualifications or relevant laboratory experience are highly advantageous.

The salary is pro-rata based on hours and weeks worked, including paid annual leave for employees with less than 5 years of service.
