We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join an Ofsted-registered residential home supporting adolescent boys with Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key responsibilities

* Provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the health, welfare and development of young people.
* Lead shifts and take responsibility for the operation of the home when required.
* Act as keyworker for individual young people: contribute to care plans, reviews and transitions.
* Supervise, support and develop junior staff, including carrying out formal supervisions.
* Manage day-to-day household routines (cooking, shopping, appointments, activities) and support education participation.

* Proven experience working in residential childcare, ideally with young people with Learning Disabilities and EBD.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and Ofsted standards.
* Experience of supervising or leading staff and conducting formal supervisions.
* Good written and verbal communication skills and confident record‑keeping.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and to manage challenging behaviour.
* Flexible, reliable, and committed to professional development.
* Driving licence desirable (role may involve taking young people to appointments).

Benefits

* Competitive salary £30,000 DOE.
* Professional development and training opportunities (support for Level 5 progression available).
* A supportive team environment and a chance to make a tangible difference in young people’s lives.
