About the role
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a full‑time Locum Consultant Paediatrician based at Basildon Hospital with a special interest in Haematology/Oncology. This role complements our established team of 16 consultants, providing attending and on‑call services for our General Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonatal Unit.
Responsibilities
* Maintain APLS/NLS provider status and keep up to date with current developments in acute and neonatal paediatrics.
* Provide clinical leadership, set standards of clinical care, and participate in the development of acute child health services.
* Promote integration between primary and secondary care services and preventative health.
* Undertake three outpatient sessions per week.
* Set up and work within a multi‑disciplinary team, holding clinical accountability for the day‑to‑day management of children at their respective sites as consultant of the week.
