ROLE: Mechanical Development Engineer
LOCATION: South Oxfordshire
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 35,000 - GBP 42,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the South Oxfordshire area.
The Mechanical Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Degree qualified or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering such as HND/ HND/ NVQ
* 2 years' or more experience working in a similar hands on Mechanical Design / Development / Manufacturing position within an engineering manufacturing environment
* Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered
* Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials
* Experience of DFM
* Previous experience of working with machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable
* Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills
* The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
The Mechanical Development Engineer Role Will Involve
* Being involved in engineering projects
* Designing and developing products and manufacturing processes
* Working with SolidWorks CAD software to design machine parts and tools
* Being involved in product development; setting up equipment for testing
* Meeting deadlines and targets that are set
* Evaluating product specifications
* Helping resolve any manufacturing issues
* Managing own workload
* Carrying out product testing
* Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
