Customer Team Leader
Location: Mortimer Road, South Shields, NE34 0RU
Pay: £13.65 per hour
Contract: 25 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent, part-time
Working pattern: Varied shifts including early mornings (store opening), afternoons, late evenings (store closing), and weekends. You will cover shifts in this store and another nearby store, which will be discussed at the interview.

About the role
We’re looking for Customer Team Leaders to join our team at Co-op. As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. You will lead the store team—coaching and supervising Customer Team Members, deputising for the Store Manager, and performing various store tasks like re-stocking shelves and cleaning spillages.

What you’ll do
* Provide friendly and helpful service, managing the store and handling challenging situations.
* Develop your team through coaching and training, fostering an inclusive culture where everyone’s voice is valued.
* Ensure the store remains safe, legal, and operational.
* Manage diligence checks and stock accuracy to enhance the shopping experience.
* Support your store manager by deputising and handling HR processes.
* Lead the introduction of new products and services, encouraging team feedback.
* Build relationships and support community involvement, assisting with the local Co-op community plan.
