In a role that combines teaching beyond the classroom with excellent customer skills, you’ll help to maintain this centre as an invaluable learning resource for children, young people and adults across the region. We’ll look to you to create and deliver residential and non-residential courses that not only support classroom learning for schools, but which also provide non-term time experiences for young people. Stubbington Study Centre is a Hampshire Outdoor Centres service. As one of six centres within this service you'll be joining a large and experienced team which offers a wide range of support and development opportunities. The Role: This is an exciting role where you'll be part of a team planning, delivering and evaluating high quality educational courses beyond the classroom to visiting groups – especially schools, but also including youth & community groups and others. The whole residential experience is important, the role therefore includes supporting and facilitating site users in order to ensure their domestic, administrative and learning needs are met. What you’ll do: Education and Activity Delivery – deliver a range of activities to groups visiting the centre Operational Responsibilities – undertake a range of duties supporting the wider aspects of a residential visit, including first aid support, marketing and grounds maintenance Customer Service and Quality Assurance - assist with quality assurance systems operating within the centre to ensure a high standard of service delivery Risk Management - Understand and implement corporate and centre risk management procedures and policies Corporate and statutory initiatives - To address and comply with the aims and policies of the County Council and ensure activities contribute towards these What we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who has recent experience of working with Key Stage 2 pupils and delivering learning experiences in outdoor settings. You’ll have helped organise and lead educational visits, including day and residential trips. You may have a background in working with a range of children and young people, perhaps in a similar study centre environment. What’s certain is that you have a good understanding of the value of learning beyond the classroom – particularly in a residential setting. Not least, you’ll need to be someone who uses their initiative and can help to keep this centre a top venue for outdoor learning. Ideally, we would like the successful applicant to be available to start after Easter 2026. As Stubbington Study Centre is a 24/7 service, you’ll be required to work a shift pattern to respond to the demands of the service. Your working pattern will include working occasional weekends and two sleep-in shifts per week (during term time) for which enhancements will be paid in line with the Hampshire County Council salary policy.
