Our client is a leading logistics and distribution organisation, recognised for delivering excellence in supply chain solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and driven Transport Planning Manager to join their team in the Widnes/Warrington area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, develop and manage the transport planning team to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery operations.
* Oversee daily route planning and scheduling, optimising vehicle utilisation and driver resources.
* Monitor transport performance against KPIs, implementing improvements where required.
* Work closely with internal departments to ensure service levels meet customer expectations.
* Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health & safety, and company standards.
* Analyse transport data and reporting to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support the development of systems and processes that enhance planning efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience in a transport planning management role within logistics, distribution or supply chain.
* Strong understanding of UK transport regulations, driver hours, and compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent IT skills with experience using transport management systems (TMS).
* Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
