The client is looking for a Junior Architectural or Urban Design Assistant with previous studio experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for layout design, masterplanning, and residential development. The client are very happy to mentor and develop the right candidate, so you don’t need to be running jobs or fully qualified. If you're a Part 1 or Part 2 Architectural Assistant, Urban Designer, or Masterplanner with strong layout skills – this could be the perfect fit. Please note, this role is only suitable for candidates who have previous experience of working within an Architectural Practice and can show examples of this in their portfolio. Key Responsibilities : Contribute to residential planning applications, including outline and reserved matters submissions Support on urban design and architectural layout design Assist in rendering and visual presentation of schemes Work closely with senior team members on early-stage masterplanning Use design software to produce site layouts, presentation boards, and supporting documentation Collaborate within a supportive, design-focused team Requirements : Previous experience in a UK-based architectural or urban design role Strong understanding of residential layout design is highly desirable Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp Experience or interest in rendering and visualisation is highly desirable Knowledge of UK planning processes (outline/reserved matters applications) A team player with strong design sensibility and willingness to learn Able to commute to the office 3 days per week (ideal locations: Reading, Oxford, or nearby – excellent rail links) What’s On Offer: £30,000 – £40,000 salary, depending on experience Mentorship and development from experienced professionals Engaging residential-focused work with real design responsibility Hybrid working (3 days in-office) Immediate interview availability – quick turnaround for the right candidate Operating for over 20 years in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, people2people, Edge Recruitment, and Frog Recruitment are an award-winning recruitment group and HR solutions provider.
