The Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates Department for a Maintenance Technician (Multi-skilled)
The successful applicant will provide both reactive and planned maintenance on a wide variety of plant and equipment across the Board area.
This post will also involve carrying out the calibration and validation of sterilisation and decontamination equipment, maintaining associated plant and ensuring accurate record keeping.
Designated individuals will be required to undertake training to be certified as a Competent Person as required to undertake various duties of this post. A flexible approach to work is necessary as variations to the standard working week may be required to meet the needs of the service. There will be a requirement for the post holder to participate in the out of hour’s on-call rota.
The Candidate:
The successful applicant will be an experienced electrician or mechanical engineer in building services and be prepared to complete multi-skilled training in several specialist healthcare related equipment as part of their role.

The successful candidate will work: Full Time 37 hours per week with an on call-commitment

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is on a Band 5 £33,247 - £41,424 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,654 pro rata per year, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
