Are you already an electrical engineering assessor looking for a new role; or are you an electrician who is looking to help train the next generation and want to move into a tutor/assessor role? If so, then you may wish to consider this upcoming vacancy at In-Comm Training and Business Services, rated GOOD by OFSTED in 2025.

We will consider applications for full time and part time.

The Electrical Engineering Assessor is responsible for a caseload of work-based learners and to oversee the learners their activities that are conducted in line with the organisational systems and procedures.

They will coach and mentor the learners to ensure the individuals achieve their goals and aspirations.

Carry out assessment and observation against national occupational standards.

Ensure that timely achievement of qualifications are met.

Duties will include the following:

* Visiting learners either within their workplace or at our training academy to ensure the successful outcome of their learning journey in line with contractual targets and requirements.
* To conduct initial assessment and induction onto learning journeys for all learners ensuring a foundation is laid as to where the learner can move forward.
* Formulate training plans that meet the needs of the learners.
* Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each learner. Create learner portfolios to agreed target standards and ensure they are submitted on time.
* Visit learners at agreed times and dates to provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance.
* Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with In-Comm's policies relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding bodies.
* Carry out progress reviews ensuring all parties are involved.
* Manage and maintain learner files in line with audit requirements.
* Liaise with other tutors to ensure that the learners' needs are met.
* Undertake Health & Safety checks for learners on programme.
* Ensure a full embedding of all equal opportunities, safeguarding and health & Safety requirement are complied with and all learners are given fair access to assessment.
* The advisor has the responsibility of ensuring learners are given the training delivery and support in order to complete their qualification timely.
* To discuss and review learner progression on a one to one basis with the with their sector lead on a quarterly basis.
* To ensure that they ensure all relevant information is passed to the correct individuals so that barriers for learning are overcome.
* To take ownership of the learner's learning journey from start to finish.
* Advisors will systematically review their learners through coaching and mentoring, if there are issues affecting the learners' achievement and/or progression it is the responsibility of the advisor to facilitate this reporting a plan of action through to management.
* Refer learners to other sources of information where needed.

Candidates must have:

* GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths.
* GCSE Grade 4 or above in English.
* A good understanding of IT, including use of Excel and Share Point.

The ideal candidate should have:

* L3 Technical Occupational Entry in Electrical Installations and Maintenance.
* L3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment.
* L3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
* L3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
* Portable Appliance Testing/ Electrical Equipment Testing.
* AM2S
* Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an Electrical Engineering environment

Candidates would ideally have, but training can be given:

* L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
* L3 Education and Training.
* V1 Internal Quality Assurance Award

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £29,000.00-£33,500.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.5 – 35.5 per week
