Political Affairs Programme
Join The Borgen Project as a part‑time Political Affairs Programme volunteer. Your role will focus on making poverty a priority in U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. The programme is 12 hours per week, 12‑week unpaid remote schedule.
About The Borgen Project
The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, the National Campaign has helped pass numerous bills that have benefited close to 500 million people in developing countries.
Responsibilities
* Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
* Meeting with members of Congress and government in your state, district or constituency.
* Representing The Borgen Project at business, political and community events.
* Assisting with fundraising; create a personal campaign and meet targets.
* Mobilising individuals to contact their government members in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
* Speaking to groups, classes and organisations.
* Writing letters of support for key programmes to political leaders, media and other groups.
Experience
No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
Details
This is an unpaid programme, although college credit may be available.
Start Date
New programmes begin every month; you can choose the month you wish to start.
