Based in East Lancashire, this highly successful group boast several revenue streams, and group turnover sits in excess of £150m. Set for further growth the group operate across several sites throughout the UK, fast paced, with a commercial and driven leadership team, they are looking for a like-minded finance professional to support the leadership team in a progressive, commercially focused role.
This is an exciting opportunity, managing a team of 10, this role is critical in leading the day to day financial operations. The business also have a focus to support and develop this position and hope to provide opportunity to promote this post in the next 12-18 months.
Suiting a dynamic, progressive and commercially focused Finance Manager, the ideal candidate will have experince of managing teams within a large finance function, and will also have a strong technical skillset.
Please note this is a fully office based position, only candidates who live locally and are able to commute will be considered.
Your new role as Finance Manager:
•Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Finance team – team of 10.
•Review monthly management accounts for business units within Group
•Reconciliation, analysis and interpretation of large data sets including sales, COS, margin, stock, debtors and creditors.
•Collaboration with IT on various projects including ERP implementation, process improvements.
•Review of high volumes of stock transition including finding and understanding reconciliation issues across departments and companies.
•Business partnering with departments to “explain the numbers”, drive and monitor financial change, financial improvements and efficiencies with the department head.
•Margin analysis.
•Review of the P&L with supporting commentary.
•Review of full balance sheet reconciliations at month end.
•Upon review of balance sheet items, make any required provisions – for example Debtors ledger, Stock.
•Mentoring and developing Finance team.
•Assist and support the FC.
•Communicate with external auditors and tax bodies.
•Monitor and supervise audits.
Experience & Skills required to apply:
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager in a similar size business.
- Strong knowledge of month-end process in a large corporate business
- Proficiency in managing stock in a large corporate business
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
- A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is preferred but not essential.
- Experience with inter company transactions
