Venari Legal is pleased to be recruiting for our client, who is seeking a Senior In-House Solicitor / Managing Lawyer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with one of the UK's most iconic brands in an innovative environment.

The successful candidate will manage the client's commercial contracts, including technology, outsourcing agreements, and third-party supplier arrangements, within a varied and dynamic workload. The role involves supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals, working closely with business partners, and developing the legal service offering.

This position is ideal for experienced lawyers looking to join a legal team that acts as an extension of the client's in-house legal function, with responsibilities including:

* Managing and supervising a team of legal professionals;
* Shaping innovative legal service delivery models;
* Driving efficiency through legal processes;
* Collaborating with the client's in-house legal team to gain deeper business insights;

Candidates should have experience supervising lawyers, with a background in general commercial law, media, technology/outsourcing, and intellectual property. The role offers valuable experience, training, and career development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Leading a team to deliver comprehensive commercial contract services, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, and advising on legal queries. Emphasis will be on technological solutions and full contract ownership.

Working closely with internal teams and the client’s in-house legal function to ensure high-quality service and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

* Building a close working relationship with the client;
* Delegating legal work to team members;
* Managing team capacity, quality, and availability;
* Setting and reviewing personal objectives;
* Contributing to financial and operational reports;
* Managing work allocation across teams;
* Participating in client and internal meetings;
* Facilitating quotes for work types;
* Training new team members;
* Supporting the development of precedents and playbooks;
* Driving legal, technological, and operational improvements;
* Handling commercial contracts and legal queries.

Candidate Requirements:

* Experience with media contracts;
* Management experience, including workload management;
* Technology awareness;
* Experience with sophisticated clients preferred;
* Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
