Job Summary:
• The Power BI Developer will support Lincolnshire County Council in delivering high-quality data reporting solutions for Customer Service and Contact Centre operations.
• The role will focus on designing, building, and optimising Power BI dashboards using data from Dynamics 365 / Dataverse.
• The postholder will translate operational requirements into meaningful KPIs and actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making.
• Working within IT Enterprise Architecture, the role will ensure robust data governance, performance optimisation, and scalable reporting solutions.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX, Power Query (M), and best practice data modelling (e.g. star schema).
• Extract, transform, and load data from Dynamics 365 / Dataverse using appropriate methods (connectors, TDS, Synapse Link, Fabric).
• Develop reporting solutions for Customer Service / Contact Centre environments, including cases, queues, SLAs, and agent performance.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and ensure data governance standards are met.
• Optimise data models and report performance to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear, user-friendly dashboards and visualisations.
• Support data refresh processes and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting frameworks and analytics capability.
• Collaborate with wider IT and data teams within Enterprise Architecture.
Skills/Experience:
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI development (DAX, Power Query (M), data modelling).
• Proven experience working with Dynamics 365 / Dataverse data structures (tables, relationships, option sets, custom tables).
• Experience delivering reporting solutions within Customer Service or Contact Centre environments.
• Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, and refresh strategies.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS), governance, and performance optimisation.
• Ability to define KPIs and translate operational requirements into effective dashboards.
• Good understanding of data modelling techniques, particularly star schema design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Knowledge of contact centre metrics such as First Contact Resolution (FCR), Average Handling Time (AHT), backlog and ageing.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Familiarity with ALM/DevOps practices for Power BI (pipelines, version control, deployments).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Data Lake analytics solutions.
Additional Information:
• Bi-Weekly Payments.
• Location: Orchard Street, Lincoln (2 days per week onsite – Tuesday & Wednesday).
• Contract Type: Temporary (12 weeks).
• Hours: 37 per week.
