Residence Assistant / Cleaner
£18,505 per annum based on an FTE of £24,784 per annum.
A minimum of 28 hours per week.
Permanent.
Responsibilities
* Support the Residential Provision for 1,095 students residing on the Hartpury Campus during the academic year.
* Clean communal areas and student bedrooms & bathrooms, ensuring hygiene standards for students under 18.
* Perform vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, emptying kitchen bins, cleaning appliances and glass & low-level windows in communal areas/kitchens.
* Dust, vacuum and clean bathrooms (toilets, showers, sinks, tiles) in student bedrooms.
* During summer months, undertake deep cleaning of student accommodation and support housekeeping duties such as bed‑making for guest rooms.
* Assist with preparation of student bedrooms before September arrivals, including the moving of furnishings and mattresses.
* Occasional weekend work may be required at peak periods; reasonable notice will be provided and time in lieu granted.
* Working schedule: Monday 9:30‑14:30, Tuesday 8:30‑14:30, Wednesday 8:30‑14:30, Thursday 8:30‑14:30, Friday 9:30‑14:30.
Qualifications and Experience
* Caring nature and an interest in student wellbeing.
* Flexible approach and a "can do" attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team while showing initiative.
* Follow instructions from the Residential Cleaning Team Supervisor.
* Excellent time‑management skills.
* Understanding of health and safety procedures.
* Previous experience in a cleaning role is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
