The Role As a Youth Worker in this specialist school setting, you will: Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils aged 5–19 with a range of needs, including ASD, SLD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs. Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, behaviour management, and engagement in learning. Provide 1:1 mentoring, pastoral support, and small-group interventions. Promote independence, life skills, and personal development both in and outside the classroom. Respond calmly and flexibly to changes in behaviour, emotional needs, or routine. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral leads, therapists, and families. Assist with personal care or moving and handling where required (training can be provided).
