A popular primary school in Barnet is recruiting an enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to start January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan and deliver sequenced, knowledge-rich lessons that build pupils’ fluency in reading, writing and mathematics. The Year 3 Teacher will contribute to phase moderation, engage parents in learning conversations and help run enrichment activities that enhance pupils’ cultural and academic experiences in Barnet. Responsibilities Plan and deliver sequenced Year 3 lessons that build knowledge, vocabulary and application. Use formative and summative assessment to identify priorities and organise high-impact small-group work. Work with support staff to scaffold tasks and provide targeted intervention that secures progress. Maintain clear records of progress, contribute to moderation and keep families informed of next steps. Participate in whole-school initiatives that improve outcomes across the Barnet community. Person specification Qualified teacher with recent, successful experience in Key Stage 2 and strong Year 3 practice. Secure subject knowledge in English and mathematics, effective behaviour strategies and strong classroom routines. Organised, reflective and committed to collaborative working within Barnet.
