CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £16.00 – £20.00 per hour
Hours: Hours of work is 7:30-4:30 Mon- Thurs 7.30- 1.30 on Fridays
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Quality Team Leader, you will support the Quality department by programming, setting, and operating CMM machines. You will also carry out visual and dimensional inspections of both machined and externally sourced components, ensuring all products meet required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Program and perform manual, CMM, and 3D scanning inspections at various production stages in line with ISO9001:2015 standards
* Accurately document inspection results, including ISIRs, FAIRs, and non-conformance reports
* Summarise rework requirements and input data into quality databases
* Inspect components against route cards, customer drawings, and specifications
* Liaise with production and engineering teams to review inspection results and improve quality
* Assist with calibration of measuring equipment, ensuring compliance with tolerance requirements
* Maintain knowledge of quality assurance procedures and inspection standards
* Ensure a clean, organised, and efficient inspection environment
* Adhere to Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management System requirements
* Support the Quality Team Leader and assist colleagues with key tasks as required

Requirements
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar quality role within high-precision engineering
* Strong working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 (AS9100 experience desirable)
* Experience with ISIR and FAIR requirements
* Proven ability in customer and supplier liaison
* Skilled in the use of hand-held metrology instruments
* Experience programming CMM (Mitutoyo using MCOSMOS preferred, or PC-DMIS)
* Experience using 3D scanning equipment (PC-DMIS preferred)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
* Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa)
