What will you be doing:
This is a key leadership role. The role holder must have prior Design experience and experience of leading others:
Effectively lead a team of multi-disciplined designers with expertise in UX, UI, Service Design etc
Provide continuous Design thought leadership including to the most senior Managing Directors of Private Bank Wealth Management.
Effectively utilise prior industry design experience to create and support delivering world class client experiences.
Develop Design strategy and work with others to develop transformation strategies.
Support the creation/operating model of the PBWM Design Centre of Excellence which will form part of Private Bank Wealth Management new Agile@Scale organisational design.
Challenge to ensure outstanding Design is delivered to our clients, adding client value continuously and support a culture of client obsession.
Build relationships across the Barclays Group to support sharing of best practice, effective ways of working and standardization.
Lead the Design Team in the following areas:
Conduct user research via interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights and understand user needs.
Create visual representations of user journeys and map out the product's layout and functionality to illustrate the user flow and interactions via wireframing and prototyping.
Develop high-fidelity mock-ups and information visualisation while ensuring the visual elements align with the brand and enhance the overall user experience.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement design solutions and address usability challenges.
Ensure designs are responsive and adaptable across various devices and screen sizes, and integrate accessibility principles to make products equitable for all.
Assist the design team in creative problem-solving and proactively contribute to our transformational goals
Effectively incorporate a range of data points both internal and external to the organisation to support design creation
Plan and lead design thinking workshops as part of our change delivery model for all levels of the organisation
Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to deliver cohesive solutions.
Continually link back all designs to strategic goals and the client value we want to deliver
Coach our wider team in understanding human centred design industry standard methods/approaches

Skilled in design principles and industry-standard tools and also understand the human-centric aspect of design. Must have led a team of multi-disciplined Designers and can influence at Director/Managing Director level
Strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects, demonstrating skills in wireframing, prototyping, and a variety of design tools
A deep understanding and execution of Human Centred Design methodologies
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision and Adobe Suite
Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, and the ability to translate findings into design improvements
Deep knowledge of user experience principles, information architecture, and interaction design
Outstanding communication skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Ability to adapt to work in a dynamic environment
A keen eye for detail to ensure the design aligns with brand guidelines and provides a positive user experience
Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address design challenges
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and developers to bring designs to fruition
Skills that will help you in your role:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
• Experience with an in-house Design team or at a Design agency
• Experience working with the Agile change methodology
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript and front-end development concepts
