Join Our Passionate Veterinary Team in County Antrim
Are you a passionate and dedicated Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking for a fulfilling role in a vibrant, growing practice? At Clare Veterinary Group, we’re excited to welcome a new vet to our team as we continue to expand and develop our services.
Our Practice
Based in Ballyclare, Clare Vet Group is a progressive, 22-vet practice with a strong community presence and a real passion for what we do. Our purpose-built hospital is fully equipped to support high clinical standards across small animal, large animal, and equine care. With additional branches in Whiteabbey, Cavehill, and Carrickfergus, we are proud to be an RCVS-accredited practice with Hospital Status for Small Animals and General Practice recognition for our Large Animal and Equine work. We were also thrilled to be named Vet Practice of the Year in 2024.
Our Ballyclare site is designed to support both clinical excellence and team wellbeing. You’ll find four consulting rooms, two theatres, an X-ray room, a dedicated dental suite, prep area, separate dog and cat wards, an isolation unit, and even a comfortable staff room complete with a well-stocked biscuit tin. There's a dedicated vet office for those quieter moments of admin, and we’re equipped with all the tools you'd expect from a modern practice-digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, dental X-ray, endoscopy, anaesthetic monitoring including capnography, and more.
In this role, you’ll see a wide variety of patients, including dogs, cats, rabbits, small furries, and some exotics. While there’s a slight emphasis on consulting, you’ll also spend a good portion of your time in surgery, with opportunities ranging from routine procedures to more complex soft tissue and orthopaedic cases. Our collaborative environment allows you to follow through cases, build client relationships, and continuously grow your clinical skills.
Our vets are supported by a fantastic nursing team of RVNs, SVNs, and clinical support staff, along with a welcoming and highly efficient reception and admin team. Our RVNs are highly skilled and run their own clinics, assist in surgery, provide in-patient care, and play a key role in diagnostics.
Our amazing team
At Clare Vet Group, you'll be part of a harmonious team of 22, 10 RVNs, 5 SVNs, and 4 clinical support staff, with a warm and friendly group of 18 reception and administration support members. We also benefit from visiting specialists in cardiology and rehabilitation, and several of our team members hold certificates in areas such as Surgery, ECC, and Consulting. If you're looking to develop a new skill or pursue a certificate, we’re here to support your ambitions with CPD, mentoring, and hands-on experience.
Able to support areas of interest with either CPD, certificates or exposure to surgeries where possible
Clare Vet Group is deeply rooted in the local community, and we love giving back-whether through our work with Guide Dogs or supporting the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. There’s a real sense of pride and camaraderie here, and we’re always looking for ways to make a difference together.
