The Management Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions for our non-household revenue streams, including revenue, cash and debt analysis. This is in addition to the communication and promotion of financial position, insight, governance and control within the business. The Management Accountant will also be responsible for the external reporting and contact for monthly revenue, billing, and cash collected on behalf of third parties, in addition to production of annual regulatory revenue returns.
What you’ll be doing as a Management Accountant (Sales and Billing)
* Produce monthly returns for third party, controlling process to ensure returns are processed accurately and within contractual timeframes
* Production and assessment of non-household key financial judgements, including presentation to Retail Finance Director and the retail leadership team each month
* Perform reconciliations of various key control data including GL balances and supporting schedules including but not limited to receivables, payables, accruals, provisions, prepayments and bank accounts
* Prepare and review journal entries, looking to automate and eliminate where possible
* Work closely with the business and Retail Business Partner to ensure alignment of business data including key performance indicators and financial data on a weekly / monthly basis
* Ensure alignment with business working papers (CMOS) and SAP (ECC) at month end, and year end for regulatory reporting
* Prepare, deliver and present monthly commentary and review of direct/indirect/non-household revenue, billing and cash for submission to third parties
* Act as finance representative with third party, ensuring accurate recording and control of the financial data
Working pattern: 36 Hours
What you should bring to the role
* Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent) or working towards (part-qualified)
* Ability to interact with leadership, key stakeholders, and employees
* Ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast‑paced environment
* Clear communication and presentation skills
* Knowledge and understanding of IFRS
* Demonstrate thorough knowledge of accounting principles, systems, and procedure
* Systems experience with SAP
