Our clientis looking to recruit a Highways Engineer for their office in Nottingham. They are looking for people who are passionate about engineering and would like to play a vital role leading on the delivery of highway design solutions primarily in the East of England.
As a Highways Engineer, you will be part of their successful Engineering Solutions team who have been based in Nottingham for over 10 years. They pride themselves on their staff development offering interesting and diverse workload. They have an excellent staff retention record.
As a Highways Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:
1. The design of highways maintenance and improvement schemes with responsibility for delivery to time, cost and quality requirements.
2. Undertake technical design checks
3. Site visits for surveys and inspections to support the design process
4. Production of feasibility reports
5. Resource planning and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including sub-consultants.
6. Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and processes.
7. Ensure legal compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
8. Work collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives/deliverables.
9. Manage, build and develop customer relationships.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
10. Incorporated / Chartered Engineer or a highly experienced Engineer working towards IEng/CEng
11. Evidence of leading multi-disciplinary projects to achieve customer’s programme, cost and quality expectations.
12. Extensive design & construction experience in highways.
13. Practical experience in the application and review of alignment, drainage and sign design software and AutoCAD package.
14. Experience of commercial awareness in project delivery.
15. Extensive experience of National Highways & Local Authority design standards & contracts.
16. Experience of design resource planning and programme management.
17. Evidence of managing H&S in design and construction.
18. Computer literate with Microsoft packages
19. Experience of the NEC suite of contract documents and contract administration.
20. UK/EEC driving licence
