Purpose of the Role
The BBC’s TV & Device experience teams build some of the most used products. We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer in Test passionate about testing and delivering innovative technology to shape the future of TV products for millions.

Key Responsibilities and Impact
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail‑oriented, and a proactive learner. You will:
- Lead and contribute to testing activities for complex and critical projects.
- Foster collaboration, share knowledge, coach and mentor other team members.
- Review new features, ensure high‑quality experiences for our audiences.
Essential Criteria
* Experience testing Web/Mobile & or TV platforms/devices
* Experience with non‑functional testing – Performance, Load, Accessibility & Automation (including Playwright)
* Experience working in multi‑discipline agile teams (sprints, scrum)
* Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
* Experience writing automation tests
Desired But Not Required
* Ability to test, deploy and support software in a complex, high‑volume, high‑performance environment
* Track record of coaching junior team members
* Experience with extreme programming like pair programming, TDD and CI
* Strong stakeholder management
* Technical knowledge of AWS cloud technologies (EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda)
