Aim of the role: To oversee efficient and effective financial accounting processes. To ensure the integrity of the general ledger provides robust and well-controlled financial information in relation to all of the group's financial reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensure the group's financial information remains accurate and compliant with accounting standards, company policies, and processes.
2. Support the completion of financial tasks during month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting cycles, e.g., closing ledgers, running reports, updating records.
3. Provide input into the production of monthly management reports and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring deadlines are met and discrepancies are resolved.
4. Support the preparation of the annual budget for multiple business units, liaising with budget holders and senior management.
5. Lead the annual group consolidation and support the preparation of the annual group statutory accounts (including note disclosures) under IFRS.
6. Lead in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for multiple group entities under IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102, and Guernsey law.
7. Support the group entity audits, liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and internal stakeholders.
8. Support review and approval of daily payments and BACS runs, including banking administration tasks.
9. Assist in completing annual returns such as corporation tax, partnership tax, group relief, and HMRC returns.
10. Act as a senior team member, providing coaching and development support to junior staff.
11. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
12. Drive improvements in group accounting processes, implement new processes, and support ad-hoc projects.
13. Qualifications and Experience:
* ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified.
* Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
* Financial reporting expertise.
* Business partnering skills.
* Excellent analytical skills to identify variances and unexpected results.
* Experience in complex reconciliations within a finance environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
