Role

Hugh Baird College have an exciting opportunity for an Automotive Technician to join our professional construction and trades department. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of construction professionals by supporting both staff and students in a hands-on learning environment.

You will provide technical support to staff and students, supervise and demonstrate processes and equipment use, and issue and maintain equipment and resources within our departments.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure the smooth operation of workshops.
* Support lecturers and students with equipment, demonstrations, and practical tasks.
* Maintain and manage tools, materials, and resources.
* Promote health and safety and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
* Participate in open evenings, taster days, and other promotional events.



Criteria

* A minimum of a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety in workshop settings.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Experience with automotive equipment in an educational or training environment is desirable
