The Role
A supportive and forward-thinking primary school based in Anfield, Liverpool, is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. You will be working closely with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning needs. Support will be provided either 1:1 or in small groups, depending on pupil needs, ensuring each child can access learning in a way that is meaningful, structured, and supportive.

Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Anfield, your role will include:
* Providing 1:1 support to pupils with identified SEN needs
* Delivering targeted small group interventions for literacy, numeracy, communication, and emotional regulation
* Supporting pupils to engage with the curriculum alongside their peers
* Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
* Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and transitions
* Encouraging positive behaviour and independence using consistent strategies
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
* Supporting learning through differentiated resources and visual aids
* Monitoring pupil progress and recording observations
* Supporting children during unstructured times such as playtime and lunch
* Assisting with personal care when required (training provided if necessary)
* Maintaining a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Upholding safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will:
* Have experience supporting children with SEN in schools or care settings
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
* Have a good understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
* Be confident supporting behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
* Be flexible, proactive, and reliable
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be available for an ASAP start
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Experience working with EHCPs, sensory integration strategies, speech and language support, or SEMH interventions is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
