The role… Join our team in Otley, where you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and steam systems. How you’ll make an impact… Install, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, and mechanical drives. Follow blueprints, manuals, and schematics for task execution. Maintain equipment in line with company procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. Diagnose machinery issues and collaborate with the Maintenance or Facility team. Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes, pumps, and pump seals. Working as part of a 4 shift pattern with a cover shift (5 shift fitters) Working alongside shift electrician both days and nights, first responders to breakdowns. Working cover shift once every 5 months. Utilise Pemac CMMS to receive work, log work histories and allocate spares to the job (training will be given for right candidate). Perform preventative maintenance checks on various assets. Identifying failure modes of equipment and make recommendations to prevent further failures. Repair and maintain rotating equipment such as pumps, rolls, gearboxes, agitators, pulpers, fans, refiners etc. Installation of new rotating equipment including accurate alignment. Follow site safety rules Machining on lathes, milling machine, pillar drill etc. (Desirable). Welding and basic fabrication (Desirable). Assist with writing risk assessments. Repair and maintain pneumatic systems (Desirable). Repair and maintain hydraulic systems (Desirable). Repair and maintain steam plant. Drive vehicles such as a forklift truck, cherry picker, scissor lift (training available) Perform preventive maintenance tasks to avoid future breakdowns. Collaborate with production teams to address equipment issues efficiently. Perform welding and fabrication using MIG and TIG for mild steel and stainless steel. Communicate effectively with leaders and technicians on critical information. Request and track supplies and repairs needed for maintenance work. Log repair details in CMMS or report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to 5S standards. Maintain tools and comply with safety protocols, ensuring compliance with ISO standards What do you bring… Apprenticeship served Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., Skilled Trades programs or military experience). 8 years as an Industrial Electrician or Mechanic with relevant certifications Experience in laser aligning motor couplings (both offset and angularity). Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, meters, and mechanical service tools. Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate, train others, and support operational goals. Computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems. Self motivated individual with a positive attitude Ability to fault find and think on their feet. Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques. Willingness to accept change and learn new skills.
