⚡ Advanced Engineering | Electrification | Mission-Critical Technology
The next decade belongs to power.
Electrification, energy resilience, defence capability, industrial automation, advanced mobility - the organisations shaping these sectors all rely on exceptional Power Electronics Engineers.
We are partnering with multiple high-profile engineering clients across the South West and the Midlands who are investing heavily in next-generation power systems. These are not maintenance roles. These are design-led, innovation-driven positions where your work will directly influence product performance, efficiency and reliability in real-world, high-impact environments.
If you design converters, optimise switching strategies, or obsess over efficiency curves - we should be talking.
The Opportunity
You will join established but forward-thinking engineering teams delivering high-performance power electronics solutions across sectors including:
* Electrification & sustainable energy
* Advanced manufacturing systems
* Aerospace & defence platforms
* High-reliability industrial applications
Depending on level, you may lead technical workstreams, influence architecture decisions, or mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and development of power electronic converters (AC/DC, DC/DC, inverters)
* Component selection (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC, GaN)
* Magnetics design and thermal management considerations
* Simulation & modelling (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice or similar)
* Hardware validation, testing and fault-finding
* EMI/EMC compliance support
* Collaboration with mechanical, control and systems engineering teams
* Supporting design reviews and technical documentation
We’re Interested In Engineers With:
* Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related discipline
* Proven experience in power electronics design
* Strong understanding of switching topologies and control techniques
* Experience taking products from concept through to validation
* Familiarity with high-reliability or regulated environments (desirable)
* A mindset focused on performance, robustness and continuous improvement
