The Role - Finance Systems Manager
The Purpose:
The Finance Systems Manager role within the Controllership team is a key role managing the implementation of new systems, upgrades and/or changes to facilitate improved processes. It is the responsibility of this role to ensure financial systems and related processes are optimised, efficient, secure, compliant/well-controlled, and aligned with business needs.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Supporting the Finance Systems & Data Analysis Lead to own all finance-related systems (ERP, reporting tools, planning and consolidation platforms)
2. Define and enforce system governance policies, including user access and security controls
3. Responsible for building strong relationships with the Technology and the Finance Functional teams
4. Engaging all stakeholders to discuss requirements, current problems and exploration of new capabilities
5. Collaborate with finance leadership to align system capabilities with the Financial Functional objectives
6. Building a pipeline plan of initiatives
7. Promote best practices and continuous improvement in system utilisation
8. Lead project delivery within the Finance Function
9. Manage required aspects of the project for the Finance Function
10. Ensure the appropriate change management and training is in place for the Finance Function
11. Provide support to the finance teams in liaising with Technology support when there are finance system issues and queries
About you:
You will act as the bridge between Finance and IT, translating business needs into technical solutions, resolving issues and delivering projects. You will have the ability to identify process and technology optimisation opportunities to streamline finance processes through system functionality. You will seek continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work whilst maintaining financial control and compliance
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
12. Communication – ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders
13. Deep knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial modules
14. Understanding of system architecture, integrations, and data flows
15. Familiarity with automation tools (RPA, workflow engines) and reporting platforms (Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud)
16. Ability to diagnose system issues and design effective solutions.
17. Effective Project Management skills – including project delivery and change management.
18. Ability to translate technical concepts into business language for stakeholders
19. Relevant system knowledge and Finance functional applications
20. Project implementation & change management
21. Finance Shared Services & Finance functional experience
22. Compliance & Controls - exposure to audit requirements, internal controls and data security
Qualifications
23. ERP certifications (SAP FI/CO etc)
24. Project management certification
25. Additional Training (preferred)
26. Knowledge of data analytics tools
27. Process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma)
